Philippine Passport Renewal in Singapore: The Full 2026 Process

Step 1: Check if you can renew

You must renew (or apply for new) if:

• Your passport is expired or expires within 6 months.
• Pages are full.
• Damaged / illegible.
• Name change after marriage / divorce.

You don't have to renew if:

• Valid 6+ months still, most countries (including SG) require minimum 6 months validity for entry.

Step 2: Book appointment online

Go to the Embassy's ePassport Appointment System via philippine-embassy.org.sg.

• Sign up with email.
• Select earliest available slot.
• Slots release in batches, popular times fill within hours; check at 9am SG weekdays for new slots.
• Print your email confirmation.

Step 3: Prepare documents

Per the Embassy's Requirements for Adult Renewal:

• Application form (download + complete; available at Embassy or via philippine-embassy.org.sg).
• Original old passport (with photocopies of data page).
• Recent photocopy of: EP card / Work Permit / PR card / Dependant Pass.
• For married women (name change): PSA marriage certificate + your old passport using maiden name.
• For lost passport: police report + affidavit of loss + PHP fees.
• For minors: birth certificate, parental consent letter, parent IDs.

Pro tip: bring 2 photocopies of everything, plus originals. Embassy sometimes asks for extra copies.

Step 4: Pay on the day

• S$102 non-refundable fee.
• Cash or PayNow only. No credit/debit cards. No cheques.
• Bring exact amount or close to it; change is given but limited at counter.

Step 5: Submit and biometric

• Hand documents at counter on appointment day.
• Take ePassport photo at Embassy (no need to bring photos).
• Provide fingerprints, signature.
• Receive confirmation receipt, keep this safe; you'll need it for collection.

Step 6: Wait and collect

• Processing: up to 8 weeks average.
• Embassy will email you when ready (sometimes SMS).
• Bring confirmation receipt + ID to collect.
• Can authorise representative with SPA + ID copies if you can't go yourself.

Common mistakes to avoid

1. Booking appointment 2 months before passport expires. Risky, processing can be slow. Book 6 months ahead.

2. Bringing only one photocopy. Bring 2-3 of everything.

3. Wrong / outdated supporting docs. EP cards change; bring CURRENT one.

4. Forgetting marriage cert for women with name change.

5. Skipping the PayNow setup. No PayNow = pay cash; bring close to exact.

6. Bringing kids without proper docs. Minor passports require parental docs; verify before going.

Special situations

Passport stolen / lost in SG

1. File police report at any SPF police station within 24 hours.

2. Affidavit of Loss, notarised at Philippine Embassy (S$25-50).

3. Apply for replacement, extra fees ~S$50 surcharge + replacement passport fee.

Damaged passport

• Bring it as-is; Embassy will treat as replacement (may have surcharge).

Expedited / rush processing

• Generally not available for adult renewals.
• Emergency travel document (ETD) available in rare cases, costs more, valid only for one trip back to PH.

Renewing for a child

• Different appointment slot.
• Bring PSA birth certificate, parental IDs, signed consent forms.
• Child must physically appear for biometrics if 5+.

Where to do biometric photo / scan if needed

• Embassy does it on-site for you. No external photo studio needed.

Timeline planning

If you need passport for a specific date:

• Travel in 12+ weeks: safe to start renewal now.
• Travel in 8-12 weeks: book appointment ASAP, follow up at 6 weeks.
• Travel in 4-8 weeks: consider emergency travel document (ETD).
