MoneyOnly Filipino PRs in S'pore pay CPF, & senior rates rise from 1 Jan 2027
Two bands go up

CPF contribution rates for older workers in Singapore rise on 1 January 2027.
The total rate for employees aged above 55 to 60 goes from 34% to 35.5% of wages.
For those above 60 to 65, it goes from 25% to 26%, the CPF Board said.
Rates for every other age band stay the same.
Only PRs pay
For Filipinos, the change reaches one group.
You pay CPF only if you are a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, the CPF Board said.
Work Permit, S Pass and Employment Pass holders contribute nothing, because they "may not retire here in Singapore," the Board said.
So a Filipino on a work pass sees no change, the same way CPF never touched their pay before.
The 2027 split
The rate divides between what your employer puts in and what comes out of your pay.
For the above 55 to 60 band from 2027, the employer pays 16.5% and the worker pays 19%.
For the above 60 to 65 band, employer and worker each pay 13%.
The money lands in your own CPF accounts, not the government's pocket.
The higher rates apply to wages earned from 1 January 2027, for workers earning more than S$750 a month.
New PRs
A new PR does not pay the full rate at once.
For the first two years, both employer and worker pay lower graduated rates, the CPF Board said.
From the third year, the full rates apply, including the senior bands above.
This sits alongside the S Pass and EP salary floors that also rise in January 2027, though those touch a different group.
Before January
Check your pass type first, because only PRs feel this.
A PR aged 55 to 65 should expect a bigger CPF deduction on the January 2027 payslip, matched by a bigger employer share.
Your employer must apply the new rates on its own, so you need to do nothing.
The change rewards staying in the workforce past 55, the same direction as the work permit age limit moving to 64.
