Philippine Airlines cancelled or rescheduled several Manila flights from Nov 14 to 18 for the 49th Asean Summit.

Singapore-Manila services are on the list, so anyone flying home in that window should check their booking now. PAL said it will notify affected passengers by e-mail and SMS.

The airline posted the advisory on its website on Oct 30. It covers domestic and international flights to and from Manila.

What changed

The cancellations and schedule changes run from Nov 14 to 18. PAL tied them to the arrival of delegates for the summit in Manila.

The 49th Asean Summit and Related Summits run from Nov 10 to 12, with some related events until Nov 15. Leaders from South-east Asia and other countries are expected to attend.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr declared Nov 16 to 18 as special non-working days in the National Capital Region ahead of the summit.

Who it affects

Passengers holding PAL tickets to or from Manila on those dates, including those flying from Singapore, may find their flight moved or dropped.

The source lists Singapore-Manila flights among those affected but gives no flight numbers and no new timings. Check your booking with the airline for the exact status of your flight.

Anyone who booked a Manila trip around the summit dates should look at their itinerary before packing. A moved flight can also shift a connecting leg booked on the same ticket.

Your options

PAL said affected passengers can choose free rebooking, a full refund, or conversion to a travel fund. All three are available through the airline's website.

Watch for the e-mail and SMS from PAL, and confirm any change before you travel. If you booked through a travel agent or a third-party site, the source does not say how changes are handled there.

Booked on another carrier? The source names only Philippine Airlines, so other airlines' Manila flights are not covered by this advisory.

The advisory sits on the PAL website, posted Oct 30. The affected travel window starts Nov 14.
