Marcos Returns to Singapore on 7 October for a 5-Day Working Visit, His Second in Three Months
The President meets PM Lawrence Wong and business leaders from 7 to 11 October, with the Finance and Trade secretaries in tow. Tech, AI, green economy and healthcare top the agenda.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. flies to Singapore on Wednesday, 7 October, for a five-day working visit that runs until 11 October. It is his second trip here in three months.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced the visit on 6 October. Marcos will meet Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, who is also Singapore's Minister for Finance, and sit down with business leaders, according to The Manila Times.
Who is coming and what is on the table
Marcos travels with three Cabinet members:
Frederick Go, Finance Secretary
Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, Trade Secretary
Dave Gomez, Presidential Communications Office Secretary
The DFA named six areas for cooperation: technology, the green economy, smart infrastructure, artificial intelligence, renewable energy and healthcare.
"This working visit is part of the country's initiative to deepen our ties with Singapore, expand our economic engagement, and advance our cooperation in sectors that will contribute to our country's development," DFA Assistant Secretary Analyn Ratonel said.

Marcos was last in Singapore from 14 to 16 July 2026. On that trip he met PM Wong at the Istana on 15 July, and the two leaders agreed to deepen cooperation in trade, artificial intelligence, investment, healthcare and social development. He also joined a business roundtable organised by the Milken Institute at the Philippine Embassy.
This time the Finance and Trade secretaries come along, which puts investment and trade at the centre. The DFA has not said whether any agreements will be signed.
What it means for Filipinos in Singapore
The sectors on the list are where many of us work. Kababayans in Singapore fill jobs in healthcare and nursing, IT and tech, engineering and construction, and closer ties in those fields matter to Filipino professionals here and to the families who depend on them.

As of 6 October, Malacañang and the Philippine Embassy had not announced a meeting with the Filipino community in Singapore. Presidents often meet their nationals on foreign trips, so watch the Embassy's Facebook page this week. We will update this article and post on the FIS Page if a community event is announced.
