The Philippine Embassy in Singapore has launched "Flavors of Diplomacy: The Philippine Food Guide in the Lion City," a guide to Filipino food across Singapore. It lands during Independence month, alongside a run of Filipino food promotions at restaurants here.
For a community that built its weekends around Lucky Plaza food courts, an official food map is a small but real milestone.
What it covers
The guide gathers Filipino restaurants and dishes across Singapore under one banner, with the embassy framing food as a way to carry Philippine culture into local life. It sits next to the embassy's wider Independence-month programme.
How it fits with our directory
We keep our own Filipino restaurants in Singapore directory, updated for 2026, covering the big chains, specialty lechon spots, and the underground favourites only kababayan would find. The two work well together: the embassy guide for the official view, ours for the reader recs and the heartland stalls.
One note from our side. The restaurant map shifts. Max's has closed its Singapore outlets, while newer names keep opening across Tai Seng, Geylang, and the heartlands. Reconfirm hours before you make the trip.
Where to start this week
If the food guide sends you out hunting, start with the spots running Independence-month menus. Lechon Republic for charcoal lechon, JT's Manukan for Bacolod inasal, Tapa King for silog plates, and Mary Grace for ensaymada and hot cocoa. For the full map, our directory has the addresses.
Food has always been how the community holds together here. A guide with the embassy's name on it makes that official.
