Singapore has 11 public holidays in 2027, five of them landing on long weekends, while the Philippines has 10 dated regular holidays and 8 special non-working days under Proclamation No. 1427. The Philippine Embassy in Singapore plans to close on 18 days in 2027, a mix of both countries' holidays, so check all three tables below before you file leave, book a consular slot or send padala.
Singapore public holidays 2027
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) published the 2027 list on its public holidays page, last updated 19 June 2026 (source). Lunar and Islamic dates can still shift on final gazetting, so re-check MOM before you book a flight on one of them.

The rule behind the long weekends. MOM says that if a public holiday falls on your rest day, the following working day becomes a paid public holiday. If it falls on your non-working day (Saturday, on a five-day week), you get another day off or one extra day's salary instead (source). That second rule covers Chinese New Year day 1, Labour Day and Christmas in 2027. Your employer picks between the day off and the pay, so ask HR now which one you get.

Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha count as regular holidays by law, but Section 2 of the proclamation leaves their dates to separate proclamations, on the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos. Do not assume they match Singapore's Hari Raya dates.
Philippine Embassy Singapore closures: rest of 2026 and 2027
The Embassy at 20 Nassim Road closes on both Singapore and Philippine holidays. Its normal hours run Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and every consular and labor transaction needs an appointment (source).

Extended Fridays still left in 2026. The Embassy stays open 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM for consular and labor services on 30 October, 27 November and 18 December 2026, and adds extra appointment slots (source). That advisory stops at December 2026. Watch the Embassy's advisories for the 2027 schedule.
A trap to avoid: a Singapore holiday feels like the perfect free weekday for passport renewal, but the Embassy shuts on every Singapore holiday too. If weekday leave is hard to get, an extended Friday evening is your best window.
Long weekends in 2027 and how to stretch annual leave
Five three-day weekends come free in 2027 (see the first table). A few days of leave turn the midweek holidays into proper breaks. Plug your own leave balance into the FIS leave planner to test other combinations.
Hari Raya Puasa: take Thursday 11 and Friday 12 March. You get Wednesday 10 to Sunday 14 March, five days off for two days of leave.
Holy Week uwi: take Thursday 25 March. Thursday to Sunday matches Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Black Saturday at home, when the whole family is off.
The May stretch: take Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19 and Friday 21 May. Hari Raya Haji (Monday 17) and Vesak (Thursday 20) give you Saturday 15 to Sunday 23 May, nine days for three days of leave.
Deepavali into Undas: take Friday 29 October, Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 November. You get Thursday 28 October to Tuesday 2 November, six days that cover All Saints' and All Souls' Day in the Philippines.
Christmas: Christmas Day falls on a Saturday. Five days of leave from Monday 20 to Friday 24 December give you Saturday 18 to Sunday 26 December at home, including Noche Buena.
File your Holy Week and Undas leave first. Your Singaporean colleagues will not compete for those, but every Filipino in the office will.
Padala timing: Philippine bank holidays and remittance payouts
Two Philippine transfer rails matter here. InstaPay runs 24/7, holidays included, for online and mobile transfers. PESONet credits same day when you send before your bank's cut-off on a banking day. Anything sent after cut-off, on weekends or on holidays waits for the next banking day (source) (source).
Mark these 2027 stretches when PESONet will not post:
Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 March (Holy Week plus Easter Sunday)
Saturday 30 October to Tuesday 2 November (weekend plus Undas)
Friday 24 to Sunday 26 December (Christmas Eve to the weekend)
Thursday 30 to Friday 31 December (Rizal Day and Last Day of the Year, running into the weekend)

What to do about it:
If tuition, rent or a hospital bill falls due right after one of these stretches, send before your bank's last cut-off on the banking day before. PSBank, for example, sets its final PESONet cut-off at 3:00 PM.
For urgent amounts, use InstaPay. Limits vary by bank; PSBank caps online InstaPay at PhP50,000 per transaction.
Ask your remittance company which rail its bank-deposit payout uses. If it relies on PESONet, the holiday calendar applies to you.
Compare today's SGD to peso rates on the FIS rates page before you send.
Helper rest days and public holidays
MOM lists domestic workers among the groups the Employment Act does not cover (source). The public holiday rules in the first section come from that Act. For anyone outside it, MOM says public holiday terms follow the employment contract (source).
So for kasambahay kababayans, read the contract first. If it promises public holidays off or paid, your employer has to follow it.
These MOM rules apply to every migrant domestic worker, whatever the contract says (source):
One rest day per week, on a day you and your employer agree.
If you agree to work on your rest day, your employer must pay you at least one day's salary for it.
At least one rest day a month cannot be compensated away. That one stays a real day off.

Frequently asked questions
Is August 21, 2027 a holiday?+
In the Philippines, yes. Proclamation No. 1427 lists Ninoy Aquino Day on Saturday, 21 August 2027 as a special non-working day. Singapore does not observe it, so it is a normal Saturday here, and the Philippine Embassy in Singapore keeps Monday to Friday hours, so it is closed that day anyway.
Is 8 February 2027 a public holiday in Singapore?+
Yes, if your rest day is Sunday. Chinese New Year falls on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February 2027, and MOM says Monday 8 February is a public holiday if your rest day falls on 7 February. The Philippine Embassy also closes on 8 February.
Is the Philippine Embassy in Singapore open during Holy Week 2027?+
No on Thursday 25 March and Friday 26 March. Embassy Advisory AD-042-2026 lists both as closures, for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Maundy Thursday is a working day in Singapore, so book your consular visit for another week.
When are Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha in the Philippines in 2027?+
As of 4 October 2026, Malacañang has not set them. Proclamation No. 1427 says separate proclamations will follow once the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos recommends the dates. Singapore has already fixed Hari Raya Puasa on 10 March and Hari Raya Haji on 17 May 2027.
Does my helper get public holidays off in Singapore?+
It depends on her contract. MOM excludes domestic workers from the Employment Act, and says workers outside the Act follow the terms of their employment contract for public holidays. Her weekly rest day and the one monthly rest day that cannot be bought back still apply.
How many long weekends does Singapore have in 2027?+
Five three-day weekends for Monday to Friday workers: New Year (1 to 3 January), Chinese New Year (6 to 8 February), Good Friday (26 to 28 March), Hari Raya Haji (15 to 17 May) and National Day (7 to 9 August). Labour Day and Christmas fall on Saturdays with no Monday in lieu.
