About 220,000 Filipinos live and work in Singapore, according to the Philippine Embassy.
The figure comes from the Embassy's 2026 OFW Handbook, which calls the Filipino community in Singapore the tenth largest in the world.
Ambassador Medardo Macaraeg used the same number in October 2026, telling reporters that "more than 220,000 Filipinos live or work in Singapore".
Who they are
About 60 per cent are professionals and skilled workers, the Embassy says. The other 40 per cent work as household service workers.
The handbook names engineers, nurses, software developers, architects, bankers, teachers, scientists, doctors and pharmacists among them.
Filipinos also work across food and beverage, hospitality, IT, education, finance and retail, the Embassy says.
Why the numbers differ
Singapore does not publish foreign workers by nationality. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) only counts passes by type.
In June 2026, MOM counted 204,300 Employment Pass holders, 177,300 S Pass holders and 323,800 migrant domestic workers of all nationalities.
The Philippine side has older counts. In September 2022, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) put the number at 81,272 domestic workers and 99,333 skilled and semi-skilled workers.
The Embassy's 220,000 is wider. It covers Filipinos who live and work here, while the DMW figures counted workers only.
