Western Union officially completed its acquisition of Singtel's Dash mobile wallet on 3 April 2026, after all regulatory approvals came through. The deal was first announced as a conditional agreement in October 2024.
App, login, payment cards — should continue working as before.
What may change over time:

Branding and rebrand — possible the app gets co-branded or renamed with Western Union over the next 12–24 months. Watch for in-app announcements.
Fees and FX rates — could shift either direction once Western Union integrates Dash into its global network. Has the potential to improve PH remittance rates (Western Union has a wider correspondent network) but no guarantees.
New features — Western Union has signalled they'll bring more global products into Dash. Watch for additions.
What you should do
1. Don't panic. This is a corporate ownership change, not a service shutdown.
2. Keep an eye on in-app notifications — that's where any T&C changes will appear.
3. Compare your remittance options regularly. Dash, Wise, Remitly, GCash, traditional bank transfers — each has different fee/rate combinations on any given day. The acquisition doesn't change this comparison habit.
4. For new account setup — still works as before. Dash continues taking new customers.
Last reviewed May 7, 2026. Acquisition details from Singtel and Western Union official releases. App functionality, fees, and corridors are subject to change at the new owner's discretion. Verify current rates with the Dash app before relying on specifics. Not financial advice.
