Where do Filipinos gather in Singapore beyond Lucky Plaza? Try City Plaza in Paya Lebar, Far East Plaza, Bedok, JEM and Westgate in Jurong, Cuppage Plaza, Tagalog Mass parishes, sports clubs and embassy events.

The Sunday gathering spots

1. Lucky Plaza (Orchard): the icon

304 Orchard Road. Full kababayan turnout on Sundays: remittance, restos, sari-sari stores, salons, agencies, Jollibee.

2. City Plaza (Paya Lebar): east-side hub

810 Geylang Road. The east side's Lucky Plaza: sari-sari stores, food stalls, remittance, salons.

3. Far East Plaza (Orchard): second-floor Filipino aisle

Next to Lucky Plaza, with Filipino food stalls and remittance counters, minus the crowds.

4. Peninsula Plaza (City Hall): Burmese + Filipino crossover

A Burmese hub with a small Filipino corner: phone repair, remittance, the occasional adobo stall.

5. Bedok Mall + Bedok 85 hawker: east-side casual
