National Day Parade 2026 returns to the National Stadium on Sunday, 9 August. Ticket balloting runs from 23 May to 6 June 2026. The parade marks Singapore's 61st National Day under the theme MAJULAH SINGAPURA, GO BEYOND, with a flag fly-past, the first indoor drone show in NDP history, the largest indoor special-effects sequence the parade has ever staged, and the trademark fireworks display.
For Filipinos in Singapore, the parade is a quiet but real touchpoint. Whether you are an EP holder, an FDW with a Sunday off, or a PR raising kids in the local school system, NDP is the one day a year when the country puts itself on stage. Here is how to be part of it without spending money you do not need to spend.
Tickets and the ballot
NDP 2026 tickets are free. They are allocated through a public ballot organised at ndp.gov.sg.
The ballot window is 23 May to 6 June 2026. You can apply online with your Singpass. The Singpass login means you need to be a Singapore citizen or PR, or hold an LTVP, work pass, dependant's pass or student pass to ballot in your own name. EP, S Pass and Work Permit holders are eligible.
If you do not have Singpass, you can ask a Singpass-holding friend, employer or PR family member to ballot for you as part of their application. Each Singpass holder can ballot for 2 to 6 tickets.
Balloting is not first-come-first-served. The system is randomised. Apply once, anytime in the window. The results are released between 15 and 17 June 2026. If you are successful, you collect your tickets at a designated point in early August.
There are two preview shows on 25 July and 1 August 2026, and the actual parade on 9 August. The previews are easier to ballot for and run a near-identical programme. For a family with kids, the preview is often the better experience: smaller crowds, the same fireworks, an earlier start instead of a late-night squeeze.
What if you do not ballot, or do not get tickets
The fireworks display is the part that is free for everyone. NDP fireworks start at about 7.30pm. The best viewing spots around the National Stadium and Marina Bay area:
The Helix Bridge. Walking distance from Bayfront MRT (CE1/DT16). Open sightlines across the bay. Gets crowded by 6.30pm.
Esplanade Park. Walking distance from City Hall MRT (EW13/NS25). Lawns to sit on. Good for families with strollers.
Merlion Park. Walking distance from Raffles Place MRT (EW14/NS26). Iconic foreground for photos. Crowded but the view is the best of the free spots.
Marina Barrage. Walking distance from Marina Bay Pier or a Grab from Marina Bay MRT. Park on the roof, picnic, watch the fireworks across the water. The crowd is calmer and more local-family.
Sands SkyPark. Paid entry (about S$26 adult). Bird's-eye view if you book in advance.
National Stadium perimeter. The free fan zones around the stadium for non-ticket-holders fill up early. Check the NDP website for the official zones on the day.
If you have a small flat or HDB rooftop
Plenty of Filipinos in Singapore live in HDB flats with a clear north-east or south-west view of the city. From a high floor in Bishan, Toa Payoh, Tiong Bahru, Bukit Merah, or anywhere with line of sight to Marina Bay, you can see the fireworks from your balcony. No ticket needed. Less Sunday-traffic stress.
If you are watching from home, the live broadcast goes out on Channel 5, Channel 8, and meWATCH at 6.00pm. Most heartland coffee shops will have the TV on. Lucky Plaza will not, because Lucky Plaza is Lucky Plaza.
