Four Filipino acts headlined Singapore's Music Matters Live over the first weekend of October.

KAIA and PIX!E played the Mainstage at Clarke Quay on 3 October, and Lola Amour followed on 4 October.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts ran the Philippine slot as a Made in the Philippines spotlight.

On the Mainstage

KAIA and PIX!E, both Filipino girl groups, opened the Philippine slot on the Clarke Quay stage.

Lola Amour, the band behind "Raining in Manila", brought a different side of contemporary OPM the next night.

P-pop group XONARA flew in for what the group has called its first international stage.

Member Eurekah said ahead of the trip: "Pangarap din namin na maipakita ang talento ng Pilipino sa ibang bansa."

Beyond the stage

On 4 October, KAIA and PIX!E joined a P-Pop Music and Culture Caravan at lyf Funan, with performances, workshops and a marketplace.

KAIA also appeared at Bridges & Beats, a gathering for the regional music industry at Swee Lee Clarke Quay, alongside Indonesian singer-songwriter Jordan Susanto and Singapore-based Filipina artist Mariae Cassandra.

KAIA's Singapore run followed its stops at CREATE Philippines x MIPAM and the ASEAN Creative Industries Expo in Manila.

CREATE Philippines, CITEM, the Philippine Embassy in Singapore and lyf Funan backed the Caravan.

The bigger picture

Music Matters Live marked its 21st year in 2026 with free nights at Clarke Quay, drawing 40 acts from 15 countries.

The Philippine slot sat inside a wider embassy push to sell OPM and P-pop to the region.

The weekend also overlapped with President Marcos's working visit to Singapore, his second in three months.

For about 220,000 Filipinos in Singapore, it meant home-grown acts on a Clarke Quay stage without booking a flight.

It adds four more names to a growing list Singapore audiences now know, from Lea Salonga down.

Entry to Music Matters Live was free to the public, part of a run of OPM nights on the Filipino events calendar this season.
